For the Nikon 300mm f/2.8 lens, please measure the front where the cap mounts to make sure you get the one that fits (108mm or 116mm wide)
For the Nikon 500mm f/4 lens, please measure the front where the cap mounts to make sure you get the one that fits (121mm or 125mm wide)
