The official Leica-branded drop-in wireless charging plate made by Native Union is a decent charger for multiple electronics, but not for the Leica Q3 wireless charging baseplate. For starters, it is very difficult to align properly to get the camera to charge. Also, there are a couple of rubber nubs on the top that make it even harder to align. It’s an effort of moving the camera a little, waiting to see if it starts charging, repeating until it happens. Ugh!

So we saw a design that uses an Apple MagSafe charger and used it as our inspiration. You insert your own Apple MagSafe charger (not included) into the socket, route the wire through the front or back according to your preference, plug into a USB-C charger, drop in your Leica Q3 with the wireless grip attached, and that’s it! Raised edges guide you so it has the perfect connection, every time. Silicone feet on the bottom keeps it from sliding around.
