Hand Grip for Leica Q3 / Q3 43 with Finger Loop Socket / Apple Airtag Socket / Arca Swiss Dovetail
We designed this grip to correct a number of deficiencies found in other grips:
• Provides an added grip for fingers
• Has a socket for a Leica Finger Loop (not included)
• Internal hidden compartment for an Apple Airtag (not included)
• Arca-Swiss dovetail mount on the bottom
• Access to the battery & memory card without removing
• Uses a tamper-resistant screw to attach to camera (includes a security T27 driver bit - not shown)
The grip is made from an ultra-high performance engineering-grade polymer that is stronger than aluminum and produced on a $10,000 industrial-grade machine. We have tested the breaking strength and found it to far exceed the strength of any other grip.
We carefully designed and sculpted the grip to be extremely comfortable to use. The bottom has smooth, rounded edges that rest comfortably in your palm. The stainless steel finger loop socket is deeply embedded in the grip and will not accidentally fall out. We located the finger loop socket in the exact position required to allow comfortable transition from carrying to shooting position, without the need to readjust your fingers. The top of the grip has a rounded section to rest your middle finger, while your index finger naturally falls onto the shutter button.
Access to the battery and memory card is unhindered - you do not need to remove the grip. Because of how Leica designed the SD card slot door, it is necessary to slightly “pop” the SD card out of the slot like a spring, allowing you to grip the card. The card slot door just barely clears the bolt by a hair, the design a necessity to maintain strength.
The internal socket for the optional Apple Airtag has a padded bottom and is simply inserted into position. It is held in place without any rattle. Once mounted, the Airtag is completely hidden with no indication one is present within the grip. The grip is mounted using a high-grade stainless steel screw that features a tamper-resistant Torx socket.
We have spent a long time designing this and testing on both the Q3 and Q3 43. We use ours with the OEM finger loop and thumb grip and it completely transforms the camera into an extremely comfortable photography tool that is a joy to carry and use.
